I ws encouraged by reading your thoughts on the seperation of the state and economics but I do have one question. You are against zoning restriction because you say they are a hinderance to capitalism. How do you propose businesses that are classied as commercial and industrial from infriging and eroding residential areas?

While I agree with your sentiment on the over use of zoning laws, I have long struggled with the practical application. It seems to me that basic zoning laws are in fact necessary.

The primary function I think they SHOULD serve is separating heavy industrial production from residential and commercial areas. Although one should be allowed to use one's own land as one pleases, heavy industrial facilities often cause disturbances beyond the barriers of their property lines. Having experienced the intensity of the skunk smell of the chemical plants of Newark, NJ simply from the highway, I would certainly expect some sort of legal protection to assure that such a plant could be built next door to me at a moments notice. I would love to hear your thoughts.
