Please don't publish this: I thought you might be interested to know that Judge Nels Swandal is running for Montana Supreme Court. www.swandalforjustice.com. I know you liked his dissent and now he is trying to get on the court to make a real difference. We'd appreciate any help you can give us. Thanks.

Hello, Tom -

I learned of HR 1913 this morning from a radio broadcast, and thought you might be interested.

The bill is titled, "To provide Federal assistance to States, local jurisdictions, and Indian tribes to prosecute hate crimes, and for other purposes," and it includes this brazenly collectivist newspeak:

"A prominent characteristic of a violent crime motivated by bias is that it devastates not just the actual victim and the family and friends of the victim, but frequently savages the community sharing the traits that caused the victim to be selected."

All the best,

Peter Murphy

There's always a first, but it's up to active-minded individuals to ensure it won't be the last. Cheers to Judge Swandal and thank you for pointing this out.
