Dido. I think the problem(particularly with the much younger generation) is a complete lack of reason. Reason is the ability to exert proper judgment discerning fact from fiction. I think illiteracy of free market economics is wide spread. It is erroneous to think that a Keynesian economic stimulus, health care overhaul, and a stringent cap and trade emissions standard will lead to economic recovery. I am glancing at the various objects on my desk and I cannot find anything that could have come from a collectivist state. Individual incentive to innovate is what creates prosperity. Hence, coming from the ground up. i.e. silicon valley, Google.

The usage of the word 'czar' increases, I believe, by design not by accident. Perhaps it is a warnings, as the U.S. has had other warnings about U.S. administrations over the last 100 years, ignored at the peril of the public. But now, with the vote count completely at the mercy of voting machines that are vehicles of well-planned election corruption on both sides of the aisles, even the vote of someone who knows something is wrong and wants to right it through "the system" is unlikely to count because there are endless ways to cheat on the paperless vote count and no way to prove what happened.

We ought to do away with the payroll tax and hold the election on April 15, voting on the back of the check with which pay our annual income tax in one payment. That would wake voters up and it would save billions. The fraud might not change, but at least people would have an accurate picture of what politicians are costing them.

I've read that after the fall of the USSR, communists turned to the environmental movement for their cash, and did right well, and are still doing well if not even better. That put things in perspective for me. Now we have a global warming scam going on and governments around the world promoting it. It's another looting folks. Look around you; the government made it happen, helped it happen, is rewarding their friends who helped them get their hands on the levers of the financial systems worldwide. If this doesn't wake people up, nothing will.

In all things, no matter how benign seeming, when questions arise, follow the money.

Using the term "czar" in this sense isn't exactly new. In fact I think it was first used under Ronald Reagan's administration to refer to the person who directs drug-control policies. That was in 1982, over 25 years ago.

I suppose one could take the fact that it started with the drug-control director and tie it with your assertion that it's a sign of fascism and infer that drug control is fascism. But I'll leave that for others to conclude.

Seeing America come so close to being what Ayn Rand described in Atlas Shrugged is a shame. Since I first came across Ayn Rand's literature I was always enthralled by America's success and have worked hard to try and be a part of it. But the endless bailouts have shaken my confidence, do you think America will get back to its former self? How long will these government measures hold America back?

Hi:

There is authoritarianism today. It is local. A danger is locals may add, which is or are subtraction. It is an indication by a fake manager through negatives and what may not, cannot, is and are without allowings to commit and partake and like against an increase toward prosperity to oneself with an infringement ploy to one's freedom and happiness. It is in an apartment building. It looks to belittle renter and guest. It restricts and is not identifying with who they are from when they are born to be abl e to engage with certain things and be like a baby to check on oneself not to be in a state by which would be a complaint by which there is no indication of harm upon the complainer, except his or her sense equivalent of non-freedom. Let them have notice that there negativity will result immediately in a notification whereby an indication may be possibly onto no fewer than millions of people to notice in an appalling way. Yes there is a specific to add which is the basis of the noting.

With your permission, I like to add more.

  Thank you.

                                Cordially,
                                          Jim

First of all, congratulations on your creation of a blog that offers day to day insight in the issues plaguing our society, economy, and political foundations. I am a 25 year old male that has kept up with ARI press releases and op-eds since early 2000, and I was incredibly thrilled by the idea of a blog designated to the standards of objectivist thought. Understanding full well that you are in the process of fine tuning the forum, I am compelled to offer what I hope is deemed as constructive criticism. My initial response to the email I received about the blog was relief that I did not have to wait a couple weeks for an insightful op-ed offering depth and and a definitive response to the issues that are recklessly being spun by every other source of media (NBC and CNN being the most disdainful criminals of the press as of late). I was also hoping that the voice of the blog would be more culturally active and not be just a series of daily examinations of current events, which are already done splendidly by the press releases and op-eds. As the elections proved the age demographic that I am a part of is a leading wave in the social climate of today, and as the results of the election proved they are the blindest evaders of any youth group since the Weimar Republic. In this age of evasion, littered with social utilities such as facebook and myspace that allows the socialistic manipulation of corroded college minds to blindly collaborate and propogate a culture of blind fear and causeless vindication, there is a need for a media utility that defines the root of the standard of objectivism that can reinvigorate the cultural movement of reason as the standard that the value of our country must stand on. It is said that Atlas Shrugged is the second most read book behind the bible. Where are the millions of voices that have read the book and have drawn the parallel between the debauchery of the Obama administration and that of James, Wesley, Ferris, and Thompson? Not since Ayn Rand herself has their been a voice that has spoken on the philosophic imperatives that must move a culture in a way that can inspire those who can speak up, to do so. I hope this blog will lend a voice to the youth that is defining the terms in which the American government will be enforced. I encourage you to outreach beyond the market of the political or economical objectivists who read and agree and find a greater depth to the knowledge that they can deduce on their own by reading Ayn Rand, and find a younger voice that propels a cultural movement that can save our future. Thank you for the work you have done in spreading the objectivist philosophy. I hope my post will carry some value to you.
