2010 Summer Internship Program at ARI

Here’s an item of potential interest for college students who’d like to study Ayn Rand’s corpus and philosophical system. The Ayn Rand Institute is accepting applications for its 2010 Summer Internship Program. The program runs in June and July 2010 in Irvine, CA. This is a paid internship for bright students planning on an intellectual career and who are interested in studying the philosophical foundations of liberty, among other topics. The internship is one among several programs for college students including essay contests, a comprehensive educational program in Objectivism, and campus club support.

ARI internship for college students interested in Objectivism

Here’s an item for college students interested in Ayn Rand’s philosophy: the deadline to apply for a summer internship at the Ayn Rand Institute is March 16. ARI interns will have the opportunity to study Ayn Rand’s philosophy while gaining real-world work experience in a professional setting. These internships are paid and available at ARI’s Irvine, CA, office. The program is open to students in all disciplines but is targeted towards those who are planning careers as academics or intellectual activists.

ARI internships are centered on the professional and intellectual development of the intern. Interns split their time evenly between providing clerical support for ARI’s Academic Division and undertaking a structured course of study tailored to the intern’s academic interests. A philosophy student may be guided through assignments focused on Rand’s epistemology, such as Ayn Rand’s perspective on concepts or logic. A student of political science, on the other hand, may be assigned topics within Rand’s moral defense of capitalism. Students are introduced to Rand’s philosophical principles and encouraged to further explore and contrast them to other schools of thought.
