I was proud to post those images on my Myspace page during the event, with the caption "I am Spartegus." None of my friends were surprised, some even followed suit.

It is ironic that the press feels they must be sensitive to the wishes of the Muslims, whether out of respect or fear of reprisals, in their failure to publish cartoons of Muhammad. At the same time the media is happy to publish breaking news of each Muslim terrorist attack. Without news coverage of terrorist attacks, the attacks would lose their purpose and quickly subside.

I'm not surprised that Yale would maneuver this way.

"blood on my hands"

YUP apparently thinks that they would have moral responsibility for the deaths instigated by the Islamists. Not publishing the cartoons and other images because of fear is one thing; not publishing them on the premise of moral responsibility is much more dangerous. Such a premise would end freedom of speech throught the U.S.

Here's a link to the YUP Aug 14 statement about the matter. You can see how far the rot went.

If you were a publishing company and know that your government will not stand behind you (probably condemn you actually) in the case you are threatened by these "people" for exercising your freedom of speech, would you publish the cartoons? I certainly wouldn't.

If this were 1945 and a Harry S. Truman was sitting on the White House, we wouldn't be having this issue, not for long at least.
