Thank you for your posts here.  I am a chemist at a predominant medical device company and couldn&#039;t agree more.  

We also purchase smaller companies once their products are deemed to fit for the market and can help to back up any addtional FDA requirements which can be very expensive. 

I think that one of the most difficult concepts to grasp is that companies can tend to cut future funding for R&amp;D products in anticipation of bills being passed in Congess--therefore it is difficult for us to connect the dots when they never really were able to be established.  

I can definitely tell you that we did have some great early development projects that were in the works that were cut just recently.
