You need to think more carefully about the math of insurance discrimination. Try this paper http://tinyurl.com/cgal3g

Jesus, that's a weak argument! Geico can drop Robert Downey Jr because he was personally responsible for his DUI. A child born with a congenital heart defect is in somewhat less control of her condition. And as for suggesting that refusing coverage with guide that child to protecting herself against some of life's unknowns, I'm not sure she'll be gratefully for having her quality of life impacted like that.

What the government calls "discriminatory" is actually called "underwriting" - the process of selecting risk and setting contractual terms based upon actuarial data and experience, to enable the insurer to make a profit. (The WSJ article discusses very well how underwriting can work in a free and competitive market to reduce cost; future options and interstate trade being excellent ideas) The government's plan is essentially to eliminate the underwriting process. There is absolutely no possibility of reducing premiums by eliminating underwriting. The government's plan is wholly unreasonable and it will cause a meltdown in about five years when major health insurers begin to fail or withdraw from the market.

This article is spot on. I'm from the UK, where, unfortunately, we already have socialised health care. It amazes me how ANYONE could see it as a step forward.

Keep up the good stuff ;-)
