"Bundle of sticks"? - Oh yes, that's how they would "think". - How thoroughly, completely, unabashedly and fittingly Fascist! - These guys would have been appreciated by Mussolini. - In ancient Rome, the Lictors carried such "bundles of sticks", "hiding" -- an axe. A perfect portent of things to come!

Good article I look forward to reading part 2. As a younger person still in college I see to much of this kind of thinking reviered almost savagely defended, mostly by those who don't own a house or land yet. They don't seem to care about the future issues this will create for them or the moral issues that are involved.

Hey, isn't a bundle of sticks part of the symbol for fascism?

That symbol fits nicely with their analogy, doesn't it?

My bundle of sticks contains at least one bronze axe.

"The traditional Roman fasces consisted of a bundle of white birch rods, tied together with a red leather ribbon into a cylinder, and often including a bronze axe (or sometimes two) amongst the rods, with the blade(s) on the side, projecting from the bundle.[3] It was used as a symbol of the Roman Republic in many circumstances, including being carried in processions, much the way a flag might be carried today."

Want one of my sticks? Molon labe...
