Nothing particularly insightful to add, just a sincere and considerable expression of gratitude for your continued efforts to slay the Progressive Greens.

Thank you.

Dr. Lockitch and ARC,

I hope to see more of these reports on how the more radical environmentalists are opposed to "green" energies. I think this growing pattern in many areas -- including environmentalist who look to put more restrictions on what nature-lovers can do in national parks (i.e., ban snowmobiling) -- provides the average person an excellent and clear example of the envrionmentalist movement's anti-technology, anti-man premises.

Dear Mr. Lockitch,

I am a regular reader of the Voice of Reason and follow your posts with great interest, as energy is a veritable obsession of mine.

The refusal of Americans to recognize that there is a price to be paid for our advanced technologies and the life they make possible is typical of Americans of all political persuasions and stated philosophies, for our widespread philosophical illiteracy and irrationality, as well as 100 years of easy access to a cornucopia of mineral resources in conjunction with the talents of some of the greatest minds ever born to the human race, has made most of us believe that life ought to be Disneyland.

We all have a lot to learn about trade-offs and price-paying in this country. Namely, all forms of large-scale energy production come with a financial and environmental price tag attached, and the alternative, which is a return to pre-tech lifestyles, will exact a toll no one is prepared to pay. Some people don't want to know what solar energy will cost in water and land and electricity too expensive for half the population. Other people do not want to know that one of the costs of our oil imports is our involvement, and wars, in the Middle East, as well as future armed conflicts with other oil-producing states in the future.

We will have to relearn the ability to learn from reality, that is, rational thought, very quickly in the near future. Let's hope we're able to absorb the lessons.

Sincerely,
Laura Louzader

Destroying pristine environments is not our only option for developing alternative energy sources...We should explore options to develop renewable energy in areas that have already been developed. How about massive roof-top solar? Or solar roadways? Why not put solar panels up in the parking lots of commercial and government properties desert-wide? Development does not have to preclude retaining open spaces.

how did 5130 acres add up to 1 million? If this bill goes through 1 million acres of land just got handed freely to the U.S. government to do with what government bureaucrats want not what private U.S. citizens want. Congrats to the dimwits for blowing an obvious opportunity to have a power plant in the area that would have increased their energy supply providing them with immeasurable amenities to living on this planet.
Thank you, Mr. Lockitch for a fine observation.
