You need to recheck your data; all the sites I checked rate the V6 Camaro at 29mph hwy and the V8 car at 24. Those are very impressive numbers if one knows anything about automobiles.

I would not buy a Government Motors car if they were the last ones producing cars for sale in this country. And this comes from a guy that drove a Caprice to 180K and a suburban to 260K. And the suburban is still in my driveway. But the Toyota and my MC and the daily drivers.

I don't like Government sticking their nose into anything, and Government Motors crossed the line.

18/29 fuel economy. Actually pretty damn good imho...especially considering the old 4 cyl malibu (2006) wasn't much better at 21/29.

Still I agree with your point. Which is why they're sinking so much money into the Volt. 230mpg (ha!) will do a lot to let them sell the profitable cars.

It doesn't make any difference what kind of cars "Government Motors" makes, they are now and forever off my list of companies I would buy anything from. Ditto for Chrysler/Fiat.

From speaking with friends and acquaintances, I find that I am far from alone in this.

So, with this problem, and the offerings of "Pelosimobiles", I think that not even the government will be able to keep this monumental turkey on life support. The UK tried this, and failed miserably.

I wholeheartedly agree. I would be happy if they stopped selling everything but the Vette and perhaps the Camaro.

Saw a news article today that the Ontario government is going to rebate it's citizens if they buy the new Chevy Volt. In other words, they are already discounting and subsidizing a car that is suposedly the new flagship vehicle and is still more then a year away from showrooms. Looks like they are anticipating a flop
