The person who deserves the Pulitzer Prize for investigative journalism is Steve McIntyre at http://climateaudit.org/ where dissection of the details is being done. The trick was to HIDE.

Hey- the Bible has had over 2000 years of peer review by experts and they all agree Jesus was the son of God. The Pope didn’t shut down the Vatican when Darwin published Origin of the Species. We didn’t hear Nixon announce “I am a crook” or Clinton admit “I inhaled and I had sex with that woman.” so we probably shouldn’t anticipate confessions.

This is climatequiddick, actually. A -gate is when a scandal is unearthed by honest investigative journalism and the crook who committed it is hounded out of office. A -quiddick is a scandal characterised by the mainstream media studiously ignoring it and praising the perpetrator who keeps office until he dies. Semantic quibble for the ironically pedantic. :)
