You guys at the Rand Center ought to write more about Disney and the demonification of its films by leftists and feminists (for portraying the heroes and heroines as smart, Americanized, and beautiful).

Now that's another great article I'd be looking forward to reading!

Keith:

I enjoyed your recent article abut Global Warming.

As a physicist and environmental activist, I applaud your efforts to educate the public about energy issues!

After talking to a LOT of people about renewables (like wind power), my conclusion is that almost everyone has only a superficial understanding of this very technical matter. Additionally, the public and political perception of wind power is being driven by special interest lobbyists, and by “environmentalists” who are well-intentioned but misguided.

My belief is that such complex technical matters should be based on science, rather than on inputs from those who stand to economically or politically profit.

The simple webpage where I have collected these documents (plus some other worthwhile material) is at “WindPowerFacts.Info” <>.

I have put on several community presentations about our energy future, with a focus on the questions of whether wind power will be a meaningful contributor. This is now online at “Wind Energy — a Matter of Life and Death” <>.

Please let me know any questions you have on any of my articles.

If you like, I will put you on my email list for my informal energy newsletter. (These emailings are periodic, and have been typically once a month or so. Obviously you can cancel at any time!)

I just wanted to raise your awareness to an article that I learned about today that ARC would probably want to vocally oppose:
http://tiny.cc/jpx1V
This article basically proposes that humans are irrational and need 'nudges' from leaders to make better choices.

I blogged a rebuttal on my blog:
http://bit.ly/10GlFb

And linked to it via the comments section to that article.
It's horrific.

Hi Dr. Lockitch,
I hope things have gone well for you since your visit to Charlotte. Congradulations on the new baby!

In regards to the new "American Clean Energy and Security Act" I was wondering if you've given any thought to the environmentalist's continual use of the word "clean" to describe there initiatives. I assume they use this word to contrast with the "dirty" sources of energy that are prominent today. I was wondering, just how "dirty" are carbon based energy sources? In my daily life, in a fairly large city like Charlotte, I'm just not seeing the dirt/filth that is supposedly being produced by fossil fuels.

Maybe there will be someone at the climate conference arguing that fossil fuels aren't that "dirty" after all.

I look forward to your future posts on this issue.

See you at OCON.

Sincerely,
James Wadsworth
