Can you increase the font size? I have to increase it to read it - some recipients might not bother.

Did you see E.J.Donne Jr in the Washington Post suggest that the Tea Party is motivated by racism against Obama!?

Thanks for your work.

Past birthdays are both bittersweet and wonderfully functional for me. The illustrious and beloved E.A. Poe enjoyed another birthday in tribute January 19. To my most treasured Mrs. Rand, her voice still speaks to those seeking reason and truth in a volatile world.

Pondering the views, news...........

It is irksome that discussed topics about the economy and war and monstrous criminal actions are framed as some form of entertainment complete with flashy lighting, fast and loud noises and talking, attractive people doing the talking and clipped to a rhythm that reminds me of a sporting event.

It was Bastiat that noted that the many stops and tariffs make for a more expensive product. That control is an intended hindrance to freedom because it is quite profitable. Information, that new currency for the membership into current age, is not designed by the media for the free. It comes with added "tariffs", taxed and metered and blocked with the ownership of the distribution controlled.

All we hear is about the economy is how its related to money. All that is given in the information stream is how the mediator is reacting to manipulation. How stupid, that's accounting not economics.
The economy, what many believe is just how much money is spread around, is really a Canary.

What we do with our environment is our economy. Too often economics is separated from morality, they are the same. See the economics, witness the moral make up. We see ourselves in our surroundings.

In essence, to gauge our moral standing we must gauge our economic activity. This has nothing to do with money. Nothing to do with wealth since both are relative and lack the objective reality of our surrounding environment.

There is truth in reality, there is no relative, subjective reality like that of money and wealth and that which can be possessed as a thing. Such an economics that lacks any moral basis due to subjective value will fail (as can be witnessed).

Economics without a proper moral backing will bring destruction. The truth of this is already evident. If the Canary dies, something is wrong. Economies are creatures of will. We get what we will. A moral application of will is the defining mark of value. Such value is not a "market" as market only cashes in tokens for exchange- money. Capital and the association with wealth has no real value. They are only tokens as well.

Economics based on production will tend to reduce cattle to their milk and meat and people to their money exchanges. Economics based on the whole or part slavery of others is the absolute worst of all moral scenarios and is far more destructive than even the market system.

It is my opinion that the communist system was designed by idiots and the remaining Statist systems (read; what is passed for democracy, monarchy, theocracy and socialism for example) have no moral basis to justify their existence. In other words, there are no moral economic systems in existence and the general use of statist governmental systems to uphold economic systems has produced human starvation, environmental decay and destruction and constant war.

This is not theory, it is our current state of affairs.

We lack the morality so we suffer the economics. So within this problem lies the solution. It is us. We have been warned to be our brothers keeper. We have been advised to manage what we have. The economics don't lie, we are immoral.

How to fix the issue of morality? "Get real," get some faith- and I mean faith that is the action, not that poor excuse that promotes belief. To do is to imply a freedom to act. Moral economics by definition would depend on that ability. The ability to act morally is to imply a recognition of actions' consequences, economics is the gauge. Government systems that are themselves immoral cannot draw a path to follow towards morality.

At some point, there lies the requirement for a moral path to economic activity, a path that cannot be laid by governments. That path is from the footprint of the first step in this thousand mile trip. That footprint is from you and I.

It is this or more war, starvation, ecological destruction- the relics of our current "faith."
