Picture a committee that tells the thinkers and inventors what to think and to invent. This committee alone will express the wisdom of society by dictating to producers what the society needs. The committee is committed to progress...of course...but at a pace that does not create dislocation of existing industries. For instance, the candle makers must be protected from the stray thinkers who come up with light bulbs. Very unstable...a society in which THAT could happen.
Well, in the name of honoring those who are looking out for the well-being of society by squelching individual initiative, I propose the CandleMaker Award. Some artistic person will design the candle to reflect the spirit of squat conformity. And, along with the Squat Candle, the CandleMaker Award will include a copy of Ayn Rand's novelette, Anthem.
Such an award will not require much funding. In fact, I'll pay for the candle and the copy of Anthem myself, if you'll nominate the candidates. This should not be an annual award. It should be given any time a meritorious dictator, large-scale or small, appears in news stories.
Do I hear a second to that proposal?

Working day in and day out with google adwords and all versions of its advertising platform. Google provides the most cost efficient marketing platform in the world.

I bet if Clemons would make a similar claim against the Boston Globe newspaper during its Peak. I think they might give away their printing presses now.

I don't know what is funnier the fact that Clemons has no idea what he is talking about or the fact that Wharton hired him as a professor.

Unfortunately, I made this Google anti-trust prediction about the Obama trust busters before he got in office and i think the USDOJ will go after them.

When this happens Google will suffer the brain drain that Microsoft did and I might be out of business if that is the case.

Thank you Mr. Clemons for your marvelous insights.
